When a parcel of land is protected everyone benefits. It means more open space for recreation and less stress on the local ecology. Open spaces contribute to our quality of life and help preserve precious natural resources. They can contribute to the town's tax base, yet require little or no municipal services.

Educators
Educators can play in important role in helping instill in our school age population an appreciation of the environment and land stewardship practices. The Oblong Land Conservancy is working with local School Boards to develop educational programs to meet these goals. If you are an educator or parent and want to participate, let us know.
Land Owners
Beyond the ethical and environmental reasons for conservation, there are economic benefits to preserving land. The Oblong Land Conservancy can assist with identifying qualified professionals to help analyze your property's conservation resource values and real estate potential. We will help you determine the benefits to making conservation a practical and economic alternative to traditional development. Learn more.
